PQIA IS “TAKING IT TO THE STREETS” WITH THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF REGIONAL LUBRICANT QUALITY SUMMITS

METUCHEN, NJ, August 1, 2017 — The Petroleum Quality Institute of America is pleased to announce that the first in its series of regional lubricant quality summits will take place September 14, 2017. This summit will be hosted by Lubrizol at its corporate offices in Wickliffe, OH and will address quality issues and concerns, specifications, trends, and other topics important to lubricant manufacturers, distributors, installers, and others in the lubricant value chain. It will also provide attendees an opportunity to voice their thoughts on what more we, as an industry, can do to help assure the quality and integrity of lubricants in the marketplace and protect consumers from poor quality, off-spec products.

Maura Schreier-Fleming will be the keynote speaker and address this year’s theme “Taking it to the Streets” along with other nationally recognized names in the lubricants business, including Martin Birze from Lubrizol, Ian Macpherson from Afton, Shawn Whitacre from Chevron, the President of PQIA, Thomas Glenn, and others.

Maura, the keynote speaker, has designed and developed many highly effective training courses and brings a broad base of experience to her clients and sales consulting. Clients include Atofina, CHS Inc., ConocoPhillips, Gulf Lubricants, Lubricants Technologies, Oronite, Sigma Coatings, Western Marketing, UPS, Fujitsu, ViaSat, Association of Independent Oil Distributors, Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America, and Texas Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association. Maura successfully worked for over 20 years in the lubricants industry with two major corporations, beginning at Mobil Oil and ending at Chevron Corp. She was Mobil Oil’s first female lubrication engineer in the U.S. and was one of Chevron’s top five salespeople in the U.S. having sold over $9 million annually. Maura writes several columns to share her sales philosophies. She’s been quoted in the New York Times, Selling Power, and Entrepreneur.

The speakers at the PQIA Summit will share their experience and expertise on a range of topics including:

  • The Secrets of Selling Value over Price in the Lubricants Business
  • Automatic Transmission Fluids – Serving an Ever Complex Aftermarket
  • The Growing Importance of High Quality Motor Oils for Passenger Vehicles
  • API CK-4 and API FA-4 Heavy-Duty Motor Oils: Enabling the Next Generation of Low GHG Diesel Engines
  • The Issues, the Actions, and the Future of Lubricant Quality

In addition, the summit will include a panel discussion focused on what is being done and what more can be done to assure the quality and integrity of lubricants in the market.

The event kicks-off with pre-Summit activities on September 13th including the Lubrizol Learning Center Experience and Tours of Lubrizol’s Facility, and an evening reception/networking event. The learning center experience provides attendees with an opportunity to learn about lubricant additive technology and visually experience mechanical systems that require lubrication, among others. The evening reception at InterContinental Suites Hotel Cleveland will help get attendees in a quality state of mind and provide an excellent opportunity to network with lubricant manufacturers and distributors, additive suppliers, and others in the lubricant business.

This is a must-attend event for quality minded companies in the lubricants business looking to gain information and insights on quality issues, specifications, trends, and have their voices heard about what more can be done to help assure the quality and integrity of lubricants in the market.
