MOTUL USA has joined PQIA’s growing list of supporters working to help assure the quality and integrity of motor oils, transmission fluids, and other lubricants in the market.
February 5, 2019, Metuchen, New Jersey – The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) is pleased to announce MOTUL USA has joined PQIA’s growing list of supporters working to help assure the quality and integrity of motor oils, transmission fluids, and other lubricants in the market.
Motul is a world-class French company specialized in the formulation, production and distribution of performance motorsports and industrial lubricants. The company has a presence in more than 120 countries and has had an established presence in the United States through its subsidiary in Southern California since 1989.
Since 1853, Motul has always favored innovation, research, and development. They are known as the leading Powersport oil in the global Powersport market and have been expanding exponentially into the PCMO and HD segments in the past 10 years. Many manufacturers trust Motul for its technological developments in car and motorcycle racing; they are supporters of iconic races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, and American Flat Track and IMSA in the US. Their automotive engine oil holds among the most OEM standards and targets to minimally carry OEM approvals and exceed specs whenever relevant.

Guillaume Pailleret, President, Motul USA
Guillaume Pailleret, President of Motul North America, commented, “Motul is proud to support PQIA’s efforts to bring to light the substandard motor oils in the market while shining a light on quality products and producers. By doing so, PQIA provides an invaluable service to both consumers and lubricant manufacturers. We feel our support of PQIA underscores Motul’s commitment to product quality and interest in assuring consumers have the information necessary to make informed decisions when buying motor oil.”
PQIA President Thomas F. Glenn says “We welcome Motul’s support and its commitment to quality demonstrated by its willingness, like all our supporters, to agree to our Supporter Code of Conduct.” Further, Glenn adds, “PQIA hopes to gain from Motul’s expertise in motorsport lubricant quality and technology as it looks to expand the scope of the lubricants we test. While it is clear our industry still faces challenges with poor quality off-spec engine oils and other lubricants in the market, it is with the help of Motul and our other supporters that we are able to continue our work.”
