Today is the first day that passenger car engine oils can officially be licensed as ILSAC GF-6/API SP/Resource Conserving
Below is a new Quick Reference (QR) the Petroleum Quality Institute of America added to its library of guides. This QR provides a summary of the new API SP and ILSAC GF-6 designations. Consumers are encouraged to be aware of and familiar with these new designations and Certification Marks since, starting today, they will begin to appear on the labels of motor oil bottles.
The new specifications represent meaningful and measurable enhancements in motor oil performance.
