The Petroleum Quality Institute of America announced today its newest advisory board member, Richard Blakeley, Quality Engineer Fluids and Lubricants Group, General Motors
Metuchen, NJ – Feb 28, 2020 – The Petroleum Quality Institute of America is pleased to announce Richard Blakeley as a new advisor to PQIA’s Advisory Board.
Richard has worked in the automotive industry for 36 years, with the past seven at General Motors. His current position deals with evaluating the quality of the fluids approved for license as dexos®, dexron® and other fluids used in GM vehicles. Previously he has held positions dealing with fuel cell development as well as gasket design and testing.
“Richard is a very strong addition to our team of distinguished professionals that serve on our Advisory Board,” said Thomas Glenn, President of PQIA. “We are looking forward to benefiting from his decades of expertise in the automotive industry and the perspectives he brings from GM’s dexos program with regards to assuring the quality and integrity of motor oils in the market.”
On joining the PQIA Advisory Board, Richard stated, “I am excited to join PQIA and to contribute to their commitment to quality in oil.”
The Petroleum Quality Institute of America’s Advisory Board comprises a prominent group of industry professionals with a broad range of experience in the lubricants business. The board includes representatives from additive companies, major and independent lubricant manufacturers, and lubricant marketers.
Richard has a bachelors from the University of Dayton and a masters from the University of Colorado, both in chemical engineering.
